Hiring Associate Director of Engagement

Lake Institute on Faith & Giving – within the first-of-its-kind Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy – invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the full-time position of  Associate Director of Engagement, Resource and Partnership Development Specialist. 

The Opportunity 

The Associate Director of Engagement will function as a key member of the leadership team of Lake Institute on Faith & Giving. This position will play a lead role in developing partnerships across a diverse range of faith-based organizations and networks with particular experience and expertise in working within communities of color. The Associate Director will help to develop, manage, and sustain new and established partnerships. With an eye toward collaboration and creativity, the ideal candidate will help lead efforts to develop new and revise resources that help to expand Lake Institute’s community of practice and reach in expanding the conversation at the intersection of faith and giving. The Associate Director will also serve as a voice for Lake Institute interacting with various publics through convening, speaking, and writing in order to expand the reach of Lake Institute. The role also includes serving as facilitator in Lake Institute’s educational programming. These professional education courses largely consist of open-enrollment courses and custom projects both in-person and online.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities 

40% Nurturing both new and existing partnerships through building networks, convening conversations, and developing new curriculum and resources to extend the reach of Lake Institute across a diverse set of faith communities. This work would include opportunities for teaching, public speaking, and supporting collaborative learning.   

40% Oversee, manage, and teach open enrollment courses, custom project courses, and online courses for Lake Institute. Manage the course delivery and collaborate with others to expand the visibility and presence of Lake Institute through local and regional as well as national and international partnerships. The Associate Director of Engagement will engage innovative techniques to maintain the high reputation of Lake Institute. 

20% Collaborate with program managers and other Lake Institute staff through assigned educational programs to develop and implement effective partnerships. Supervise and train adjunct faculty and staff for educational programs and partnerships. Assist in managing and refining the evaluation process of educational and public programs. 

Qualifications 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in theology, divinity, religion, or adult education preferred. Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.  

Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in teaching, resource, and partnership development or a combination of three years teaching and two years in a related field (fundraising, educational administration, religious institutional leadership) required. 

Salary & Benefits 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits will include health care; life and disability insurance; 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution up to 10% of salary; tuition benefit; paid time off and paid holidays according to Indiana University policy.
