Engaging faith leaders, scholars, students, and the local community on topics of faith and giving
Lake Institute on Faith & Giving offers two annual public programs: the Thomas H. Lake Lecture and the Lake Distinguished Visitor Program. Noteworthy scholars and practitioners are invited to share their research, professional expertise, and personal giving stories. Additionally, we often partner with other organizations to host special events.
Thomas H. Lake Lecture
This annual lecture, named in honor of philanthropic leader Thomas H. Lake, invites a noted scholar or practitioner to speak on a topic related to faith and giving, and includes opportunities for audience conversation and interaction with speakers.
Lake Distinguished Visitor Program
This special program introduces local and online audiences to remarkable scholars and practitioners in the field of faith and philanthropy. Through public talks and online dialogues, Lake Distinguished Visitors share their philanthropic stories and reflect on the role of faith in shaping their unique contributions to the common good.
