Money and Philanthropy from a Latine Perspective

This video, featuring Amparo Diaz, is part of a series designed to provide course participants with a series of presentations about philanthropy, giving, and fundraising within the Latine and Hispanic communities.

Amparo is a program officer with Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc. where she builds partnerships to strengthen healthy communities in South Texas. As a grant maker, Amparo works with changemakers to expand opportunity and wellbeing across 74 counties in the South Texas region. In particular, she focuses on advancing digital equity, education, and workforce development to help people gain access to what they need to thrive.

Amparo is joined by Elizabeth Le’anani Coffee. Elizabeth is the managing director of Lake Institute on Faith & Giving. She has more than a decade of leadership experience in faith-based education, philanthropy, and nonprofit strategy. Shaped by her Hawaiian heritage and rooted in San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth is known for designing spaces that connect theological imagination with social change.
