Thomas H. Lake Lecture

Ann Braude, Ph.D. explores the relation between religion and philanthropy through the lens of women’s history, drawing on the rich heritage of women’s religious activism in diverse communities in the 19th and 20th centuries. She highlights the origins of women’s involvement with fundraising for religious purposes and examines philanthropy as a path to leadership for religious women.
