Driving Nutritious Food into a Food Desert
Driving Nutritious Food into a Food Desert
Shared from Invested Faith.
Tiffany Terrell, an Invested Faith Fellow, realized that she lived in a community where many residents had no access to food, especially healthy and fresh food. Motivated by the need in her community and her faith – “we get up, we go out, and we help people” – Terrell created the Mobile Grocery Store concept for A Better Way Grocers.
A Better Way Grocers drives nutritious food into communities struggling with food access issues across southwest Georgia. Using a retro-fitted school bus as a one-aisle grocery store, Terrell and her team offer reasonably priced, healthy and nutritious food to local communities, along with health education.
