PhilD Lake Institute Faith & Giving Fellowship


Lake Institute is proud to offer the Professional Doctorate in Philanthropic Leadership (PhilD) Lake Institute Faith & Giving Fellowship that supports the promise of future leadership focuses on issues at the intersection of faith and giving.

The PhilD Lake Institute Faith and Giving Fellowship supports one $14,000 fellowship for the 2025-26 academic year for an admitted PhilD student whose Applied Research Project (ARP) and promise of future leadership focuses on issues at the intersection of faith and giving. The Lake Institute PhilD Fellowship may potentially be renewed for a second ($14,000) and third year ($10,000) on condition of continued academic good standing as well as demonstrating ongoing engagement on the issues at the intersection of faith and giving through their applied research and practical leadership.

Applications must be submitted by the PhilD application deadline of December 5, 2025.

For enrolled PhilD students in the cohort who started in August 2025, you may also apply for the Lake Institute PhilD Fellowship. In addition to your already submitted initial PhilD application and Applied Research Project (ARP) proposal, we ask that fellowship applicants answer these additional questions: 

1) In your Applied Research Project, how do the topics of faith/religion and giving intersect within your proposal? How might practitioners and leaders at the intersection of faith and giving be impacted by your research? (500-750 words).

2) Vocationally, how do you conceive your current and future professional roles helping to foster greater attention to the intersection of faith and giving? (500-750 words).

3) Please state if you have employee-based financial support for your PhilD program. If so, at what level?
